Sweet Gum Tree

One of the best trees for autumn colour, the sweet gum has beautiful maple-like foliage that turns crimson, orange and yellow, depending on the growing conditions.The best, most vivid colours will occur in lime-free or acid soils. This large tree has a broad, pyramidal crown and a striking cork-style bark which is at its best in winter. An excellent large garden, street or park tree with a uniform straight trunk. Not suitable for chalk soils.
